PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

Our 3rd annual photography contest is a way to recognize Zoe’s love of art and photography.

The Photography Contest Prompt

This year’s photography contest prompt is ‘Generations’. You can explore the relationships and bonds between different generations, societal changes across generations, objects that represent a particular generation and how they have changed. These are ideas to jump start your creativity. Your unique interpretation of the prompt should be captured in your image.

Take a photograph that represents ‘generations’ and submit a written statement of 100 words or less which explains how your photograph represents ‘generations’. 

Contest Requirements

• Submit one image in JPEG (JPG) Format
• Image File Size Minimum 1MB to Maximum 5MB 
• File Resolution – 300 dpi 
• Minimize use of digital manipulation. Heavy use of Photoshop or other manipulation will not impress the judges. 
• Do not submit PowerPoints, movies, audio with images, or animation.
• All submissions will be shared on our website as well as on social media. 

Who Can Enter

• Palm Beach County students in grades 7-8 or grades 9-12.

Fees

• There is no fee to enter the contest

When Can I Enter

• September 1, 2025, through October 26, 2025

Public Voting for People’s Choice Award

• October 27 – November 10

Winners Announced

• November 21, 2025

JUDGING

Photographs will be judged by professional photographers in the following areas:

• Technical Skill
• Creativity
• Responsiveness to the prompt
• Overall Impact

The judges will be looking for work that reflects your personal vision and is technically proficient, including proper exposure, focus, contrast and color balance. 

You are responsible for the quality of your submission, and for adherence to the contest guidelines. Incomplete or improperly formatted submissions will not be considered for an award. 

All submitted work must be original and may not infringe on the copyright or other intellectual property of any other person. 

Winners

• 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each of the two grade categories (7-8 and 9-12).
• One winner from public voting – People’s Choice Award

Prizes

• 1st Place - $350 gift card  for classes or a workshop  at the Armory Art Center and a $500 gift card for B & H Photo.
• 2nd Place - $200 gift card  for classes or a workshop  at the Armory Art Center and a $350 gift card for B & H Photo.  
• 3rd Place - $200 gift card  for classes or a workshop  at the Armory Art Center  and $200 gift card for B & H Photo.
  
  
• People's Choice Award -  $200 gift card for B & H Photo.
