SHORT-FILM COMPETITION
Inspired by Zoe’s love of all forms of art, the Zoe Loren Foundation is launching its short film competition! Film makers of the future will have a chance to showcase their visual storytelling!
The Short-Film Prompt
Your short-film must be a live-action short narrative film, using the theme 'Life is a Journey'. We are looking for a short fictional film that is not animated! The film should run for 3 minutes or less including title and end credits.
Contest Requirements
Submit one video in any common video format, such as MP4, MOV or AVI
Video File Size Maximum 2GB
All submissions will be shared on our website as well as on social media.
Who Can Enter
Palm Beach County students in grades 9-12.
Fees
There is no fee to enter the contest

March 11, 2024 through May 13, 2024
Public Voting for People’s Choice Award
May 14 to May 21, 2024

and the opportunity to shadow Jupiter Compass for
a video shoot with the Zoe Loren Foundation. - 2nd Place - $500

JUDGING
Films will be assessed by three professional filmmakers and a digital media specialist in the following areas:
- Cinematography
- Technical skill
- Creativity
- Responsiveness to the prompt (Life is a Journey)
- Plot
- Entertainment Value
You are responsible for the quality of your submission, and for adherence to the contest guidelines. Incomplete or improperly formatted submissions will not be considered for an award.
All submitted work must be original and may not infringe on the copyright or other intellectual property of any other person.
All films must be in English, or subtitled in English.
Content must not contain obscenity, explicit sexual material, nudity, profanity, or graphic violence.

The Zoe Loren Foundation was established to celebrate Zoe’ life and to honor her memory by providing opportunities in the arts for under-served K-12 Palm Beach County students. Our goal is to use the power of art to engage, inspire and empower local students via individual scholarships as well as funding to local non-profits in need of an arts program.
Our mission is to enrich the lives of Palm Beach County’s children by providing opportunities for exploration and inspiration.
